At the height of the "ugly Christmas sweater" phase in 2015, 2 Chainz made millions for charity with his "Dabbing Santa" sweater. The item, which is still for sale to this day, features the same dabbing Santa Claus that he also included in an online videogame. And it looks as if naughty ol' Walmart has stolen that design and made it its own.
On his Instagram, the artist formerly known as Tity Boi pointed out that Walmart straight-up swiped his design. "Oooh nooo someone please tell Walmart that they didn't get permission to use this patent or likeness in anyway," he wrote.
While Walmart has yet to respond to the allegation, we have a strange feeling that the retailer isn't donating their proceeds of the sales to charity like Chainz did through his T.R.U. Foundation.
More importantly, however, we're left wondering who the hell is still buying ugly Christmas sweaters with dabbing characters on them in 2017?
🤔🤔😡😤Oooh nooo someone please tell Walmart that they didn't get permission to use this patent or likeness in anyway. We use this sweater this time of year to spread togetherness and also give back to those who are less fortunate or not able to provide for their families at the time 🙏🏿...That being said it's gone be a Jolly Holly Xmas #WALMARTGONEBUYMEAHOUSE #WALMARTGONEBUYMEACAR #Walmartgonegiveback2mycommunity #WALMARTGONEMAKEMEASTAR. 😆🤣gotta lil ring to it mite lay dat bihhh down later tonight when I get to the studio
