Published Jul 27, 2020Killer Mike once estimated that it takes six pounds of cannabis for El-P and himself to record a Run the Jewels album, and the duo surely won't be in short supply going forward with the announcement of their own product line.
The pair have teamed up with sativa-focused cannabis brand Lemmonade to create branded strain "Ooh La La." Named after their RTJ4 single, the hybrid flower is said to balance "Lemmonade's sativa focus with RTJ's indica appreciation."
Per a product description, "Ooh La La flexes an aroma of spice cake and frosting plus flavor of sweet fruit cake with an herbal tea chaser, delivers a sensory-heightening head high and a light body feel. More fyah!!"
The line will also feature RTJ-branded pre-rolls, vapes, extracts and blunts. At present, the product line can be found in American dispensaries.
Alongside this announcement, Run the Jewels have also shared a new stop-motion video for "JU$T," which you can find alongside some product shots of "Ooh La La" below.
Of the clip, director Winston Hacking explained, "I worked closely with Run the Jewels to create a satirical time-capsule of 2020 thus far, capturing the sentiment of their song using collage animation. Drawing on the influence of Public Enemy's classic 'Shut 'Em Down' video, we combined cut up images from contemporary and historical events into a psychedelic protest vignette, a visual fuck you to systemic racism."
Exclaim! recently named RTJ4 one of the 33 Best Albums of 2020 so far.
